Mary McGinty is co-founder, owner, choreographer, and teacher of Inis Acla School of Irish Dance and has been teaching for almost 30 years. Mary is a certified teacher and adjudicator by An Comisiún le Rincí Gaelacha. She herself did Irish dancing as a child, was a champion dancer, and has Irish roots as her father and mother both immigrated from Ireland.
Mary opened the Inis Acla School of Irish Dance in Memphis, TN in 1992 to promote the beautiful art form of Irish Dance in the Mid South. She also opened and taught at Inis Acla in Augusta, GA for several years. She received her T.C.R.G. in 1981 and A.D.C.R.G. in 2002. She has served as Regional Director for the Southern Region as well as being a representative to CLRG. Mary is also a doctor at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital and has two children.
